Belgrado è rock

Some of you may know, thanks to the big success of Rockpolitik, the tv show led by Adriano Celentano, that everybody in Italy is wondering and listing what rocks and what’s just “slow”.
Well, from the very limited point of view of our burekzilnica, I must remind our hosts that “Belgrade rocks“, as the New York Times wrote some days ago in a long article which is already a classic 😉

Tell us more about Celentano’s show!
Eric I’ve just come back from semiotician congress, soon further news about celentano!
Eric, Adriano Celentano show was watched by at least 11 million of people and it was a great success against many attempts of censorship, brought by Rai responsibles and goveranemental pressures.
Adriano Celentano showed everybody to be very “powerful” in this sense, since he even symbolically “gave his mike” to Michele Santoro, an italian journalist that Berlusconi pulled out the public television because he didn’t like him. This impressed so much the general public.
The beginning of the show, indeed, was something that really amazed italian people. Adriano started with a long list, in which he was claming what is rock and what is just “slow” for him. For example, he said, “freedom is rock”, “censorship is slow”, gays are rock while gay weddings are slow (taking position on our political issues). From that moment, it looks like Italians haven’t had anything to do than listing what is rock and what is not. Politicians said “Prodi is rock Berlusconi is slow”, Fiat said “Multijet motor is rock Diesel is Slow” and so on… That’s why I felt to made my balkan sentence reminding that just few days ago even the NYT claimed Belgrade to be rock 🙂
